Week five due March 3, 2010

Photography IV:
Repeat the directions from week four. Pick three new images from masters-of-photography.com from three different photographers. PLEASE, limit yourself to ONLY what is available on the masters-of-photography.com website. (These images do NOT need to be in current exhibitions, only that they are posted on this one website) This time, select images from three different photographers. Pick the three because each image "strikes" you. And, of course, post three RECENT images of your own and state why you selected each of those images.

Then, after you have all six images posted for week five, go back to week four and look at each of the three images you selected from Masters-of-photography.com for last week. Without deleting what you have already written, add to week three's post and now write why YOU think they are amazing images that deserve to be in the archive of "masters". State EXACTLY what makes these images amazing.

Make a list of your most favorite and most famous contemporary artists / art stars.
Write your list in your blog.
Then search to see if they each have their very own website.
Select three of the websites and post the links.
Then critique each website in terms of your own needs for your own portfolio.
Talk about navigation, organization, design elements and anything else you notice.

Then post three recent images that you have shot and explain why you selected each one of the three.

Photography V:
Find three websites that function as portfolios for Artists using photography as their main medium. Post a link to each artist's on-line portfolio.
Then for each artist answer the following:
1. What functional elements do they use in the structure of the website (statement, how work is divided up, navigation, what is on home page, scrolling or no scrolling, any other functional element)?
2. What design features can you name (font, color, form, font colour, decorative elements)?
3. What does this presentation itself say about the artist (without taking into account the work or resume) ?
4. What do you like about the website and what do you dislike about the website?

Then, post any three RECENT images of your own. State why you selected each of the three images.
