Week Ten due Wednesday April 14

Photography IV

For this week, select images from recent and current exhibitions of artists that are living.

Go back to the posted notes from chapter 4 and chapter 5 (on the metroconnect class site, under files). Click through the links to websites for both chapters. Also, you can use the artists that are in the 2010 Whitney Biennial.

Again, select any two images from any two different sites for chapter 4 and two images from two different sites for chapter 5.

Link the image back to the original site.

For each image, write briefly how you "read" (interpret) specific signifiers within the images and how that interpretation relates to a specific theory from the reading.

Then, as always, post three of your own very recent images and explain briefly why you selected each of the three images.

Select any three images from three different sites that relate specifically to aartiststs oncepts and theories in your work.

Post these three images on your blog with a link back to the page.

And very specifically and clearly state what the theory or concept is that you relate to this artist's work.

Read reviews of this artist's work and cite it (all artists from the show have links to critical material).

Then, as always, post three of your own very recent images and explain briefly why you selected each of the three images.
